Athlete Spotlight: Tash

As far as I know, Tash is an 8am only girl! She’s consistent and sticks to her routine. She’s also been a member of LAX CrossFit for about as long as anyone, but many of you may not know her. So here’s a little window into our resident pyschologist…

If you had a super power, what would it be? (You can’t say flying or invisibility – those are boring, get creative!)

Power to make everyone truly listen to others and speak openly and honestly with one another…The world would be an even more pleasant place.

What’s your middle name?

Marie

A squat depth that makes just about anyone jealous (even me)

What’s your favorite sport to play? To watch? Play?

Play? I don’t play sports, but I love hiking and backpacking.
Watch? MMA for sure and Crossfit Games.

Which CrossFit Athlete do you think you resemble most?

I’d say I have a little of each of the awesome morning women I regularly workout with at the box…Brenda, Heike, and Eve. They each inspire me to stay active and fit. Three strong, dedicated women.

What’s a sport you’ve never tried but are dying to?

Race car driving!!

What was your first pet’s name?

Bugs

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Ben & Jerry’s Coffee Toffee Crunch

Who’s your favorite superhero?

Every individual of diversity who stands up for his/her human rights.

What’s your least favorite insect?

Silverfish. I’m one of those who tries to let bugs outdoors, rather than kill them, but those suckers are nearly impossible to catch. Some don’t make it. 🙁

Tash is constantly focused on perfecting her technique and it shows in her lifts.

What music do you listen to when you’re driving?

Lately, R&B.

What’s your favorite breakfast food?

Fried eggs topped with parmesan cheese (flip and fry the cheese), tomato, and avocado on top of a hash brown patty.

If you were a teacher, what would you teach?

I do sometimes teach masters students in psychology.

What’s your go-to restaurant when you don’t want to cook?

I order in a large cheese pizza from Valentino’s (closest pizza to east coast pizza). Comfort food.

If you could only do one workout for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Double-unders. Ha. No, not really, but they would be a great way to stay in shape. I’d have to say hiking.

What’s the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?

I got cookie batter as a white elephant gift once. I had to make the cookies myself. Ha.

Least favorite WOD?

Anything with lots of snatches…or burpees.

Favorite thing to do on a rainy day?

Stay in bed, put on a great movie, open the back door of my bedroom and watch and listen to the rain fall….while eating that cheese pizza of course.
