Athlete Spotlight: Nick

Nick has been an LAX member for a while now. He was stationed abroad for a while, but if you’re on the SugarWOD then you saw him pop up there and following our programming quite a bit. We love that! Not only do we thank him for his service, but also for being an awesome part of our community. He does mix it up with mornings and evenings so good chance just about everyone has met him, but this spotlight is sure to hit some things you may not know. Enjoy…

If a movie was being made about your life and you could choose the actor/actress to play you, who would you choose?

Probably Bruce Willis or Harrison Ford due to comparable levels of sarcasm.

If you had a time machine for the weekend, where would you go?

Either way back in the day to talk to Jesus or back a couple decades ago to spend time w/ my grandparents again.

Seems like every other picture I found was Nick doing double unders. He either looks really good doing them or is taking too long on them 🙂

What’s your favorite food?

A good burger w/ cheap birthday cake being a close second

What’s your favorite show ever?

I wish I could say the Sopranos but I wasn’t a fan of the last couple seasons. Therefore I would have to give it to Game of Thrones w/ honorable mention to Breaking Bad.

If you had 10 million dollars, how would you spend it?

I would aggressively invest it to hopefully one day have enough to buy the Chicago Cubs!

Your favorite fast food in your former life was?

Chick-fil-A

Where did you last vacation?

Chicago or Arizona

What’s your favorite workout music?

Hard Classic Rock or 2000s hip hop

If you could invite 1 famous person to dinner, who would you choose?

Bruce Lee or Abraham Lincoln

What makes you keep going?

In CrossFit – not getting fat and always improving. In life – family and fear of being viewed as a failure.

What’s you favorite action movie?

Terminator 2 w/ John Wick being a close second.

If you could have one super power, what would it be?

The ability to fly really fast so I don’t have wait in traffic or worry about getting beat up by United.

Justin Sisson, 23, assigned to 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, died June 3, 2013, from wounds caused by a suicide bomber in Chamkani, Afghanistan. Sisson is survived by his parents, Kevin and Phyllis; brother, Ryan; grandmothers, Judith Liming and Janis Beshoner; and numerous other friends and family members.
