Softball

Last year my husband and I were asked to be on a coed softball team. My immediate response was, “uhh, no thanks I’ve never played softball before, and I’ve never really been interested.” My husband was the one who said we should do it, so I agreed figuring maybe it could be fun. I’m so glad I decided to play! Not only was it super fun sprinting around the bases, trying to hit and catch balls, and figuring out when to try to slide, but I actually learned the rules and had a new appreciation for the game that I had always thought to be boring and slow!  I wanted to tell you this to encourage you to try new sports and adventures even when it takes you out of your element! You may be surprised at what you find! Our LAX CrossFit softball team would be a perfect way to come out and learn something new or bring back a part of you that was was left in your past.

Since softball ended I’ve tried beach flag football, where many of you know I broke two fingers, (maybe I won’t be doing that one again) and I’m excited for future sports to fulfill my need of challenging myself and competing! I hope we have several LAX CrossFit sports teams in the near future and I hope many of you join in on the fun!

Hopefully you saw the announcement on the whiteboard and had a chance to sign up. We do have to submit an official roster, but hopefully we’ll be able to use some subs here and there if needed. If you did sign up, please take a minute to submit your payment for the league using the button below.

  • Slo-Pitch CoEd Softball League in Redondo Beach
  • Sundays, starting October 16th, 2016 (if you’re not playing, we would love to have you there heckling cheering us on!)
  • 8-10 Games including playoffs
