New (Mobile) Site

Based on the power of Analytics, I would guess that our new mobile site isn’t news to about 60% of you. Who would have guessed that so many of you are on your phones all the time? So it’s been long overdue, but we finally put together a legit mobile site that hopefully you’re already enjoying. Here’s a quick tour…

Home Page

If you’re religious about reading the latest blog post and seeing what the WOD is, then the new home page is perfect for you. You’ll see the five latest posts scrolling through the top and can load more and more blog posts by scrolling down and tapping ‘Load More’.

We’ve also recently improved our commenting engine and now use the very popular Disqus to create and track conversations. The home page displays exactly how many comments have been written on a particular post, so if that number has gone up since you last looked, you know people are chatting. The new home page is definitely geared toward current, active members. We heard you wanted the latest blog post and WOD front and center, and we listened.

The Menu

While the home page is more focused on giving current members the info they’re looking for, we’ve structured the menu in a way that provides the information new visitors might be looking for first.

We started with the basics linking to the CrossFit 101 classes, then our Location, Class Schedule, Waiver, and Pricing.

There’s also some pretty fancy icons that represent each page’s contents. Pretty!

The Footer

If you’re looking to connect with LAX CrossFit’s massive Social presence, then the footer is where you want to go. Scroll all the way down on any page or post and you’ll find everything you need: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, and even a quick email button.

There’s also quick access to a Google Map, as well as our phone number. It’s never been easier to connect, find us, or send us a quick message.

With our new mobile site, you no longer have to struggle to read the blog post and WOD. We think it’s downright an ideal way to see all the pics and read through the content.

We’ve also made it super easy to share a post. So next time we’re hosting the LAX CrossFit Beach Olympics, or you want to let that volleyball ringer know about the Spike Town Throwdown, you can easily share a post about it.
