Housekeeping Reminder


We’ve had a ton of new members join us, and we’ve added a lot of new (exciting) classes which have also increased the amount of people coming into our box every day. I thought it would be good to post a quick refresher of some of the general housekeeping stuff that we went over earlier this year.

Remember – we love our members and we love our box!! Together we can keep LAX looking sharp!

It’s 2015! I’m sure you’ve figured that out already, but wow, this year is moving quickly! We’ve noticed that there has been an increase in absent-mindedness at the Box. If you want our Box to be a nice place, it’s going to take everyone working together. The staff at the Box literally cannot keep up with the mess that’s being made, and frankly, they shouldn’t have to. Let’s work together to fix this. A quick review of some of our Box’s policies and rules:

  • Take care of your equipment. I recently found a 5lb plate in the 2.5lb plate stack. That’s just lazy, and it’s unacceptable.

  • Pick up boxes instead of dragging them. Dragging the ruins the edges and makes them dangerous for box jumps. Please also note that boxes need to be stacked top to top so that they don’t get stuck together.
  • Don’t drop or dump unloaded bars. They have feelings too – and that breaks them.
  • Remember to roll up yoga mats and wipe them down. Cold and flu season is coming….

  • Make sure to put up your bands, boxes, plates, or any other equipment used or left out during your class. This means putting away everything that you used during a WOD, including bands, boxes, plates and RX Chips.
  • Clean up the bathroom after you use it. No, you don’t have to scrub the sink or anything like that. I recently walked into both bathrooms one day to find something that looked like this:

    but without the cute dog. The kicker was that both toilets hadn’t been flushed.

  • Taking a mid-WOD potty break? Eat the 15 seconds to flush the toilet.

8 Russian KB Swings (2 pd/1.5 pd)
30 Double Unders

Cash Out.
3 Minute Weighted Plank (45#/25#)
3 Minute Side Plank

Accumulate 3 minutes in a weighted plank, and 3 minutes on each side.

CrossFit 101

Push Press 5 x 5

15 Box Jumps
10 Push Press
5 Burpees

Rest 2 minutes, then repeat. Score each amrap, and total.
