9-11 Tribute WOD

September 11th 2015 will mark the 14th anniversary of the attack on the United States in New York. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I had just woken up when I saw the news that a plane had struck the first tower of the World Trade Center. Not thinking too much of it I got in my car and drove to school to start at my job on campus.  All over the radio on every station you could hear them talking about a second plane hitting and it being a possible terror attack. Right then it started to sound unreal. When I got to work that was all everyone was talking about. There were talks of shutting down all of the schools in the event that other major institutions could be targets. Five minutes later every person on campus was ordered to evacuate. Most people walked while some ran furiously to their cars. My ten minute commute turned into 1-1/2 hours. Then, probably as you did, I sat in front of the TV watched and witnessed our country enter a turning point in history.

You may have known someone who either passed or was somehow effected by the tragedy in New York and at the Pentagon. To honor those lives that were lost in the attack LAX CrossFit will be performing the 9-11 Tribute WOD.

11 Deadlifts (170/120) – symbolic of Flight 77 and Flight 93 combined
11 Push Jerks (110/75) – represents the number of floors in each tower of the WTC
